The Archer. The Greeks saw Chiron with a bow and arrow pointed at Scorpius. It is also called the Tea Pot in modern times. The 'steam' of the Milky Way appears to rise out of the spout. Another apt description of this area of the sky would be a house, with a 45 degree roof.

This area of the sky is rich with deep sky objects, such as M24, also called the Sagittarius Star Cloud, the Lagoon Nebula, the Trifid Nebula, several large globular clusters, and a host of open clusters and other celestial wonders. The heart of the Milky Way lies in Sagittarius, so this is naturally where one would expect to see the most stars. It is believed that if it were not for all the dust that obscures the center of the Milky way in this direction, this area would shine as bright as the Full Moon! Even the dust can be detected in features such as Bok globules, and the Pipe Nebula, a dark region where very few stars are visible, right next to rich star fields.
