The Serpent Holder. The Greek legend suggest the Serpent Bearer is the God, Aesculapius, the founder of medicine. It was believed that he was so powerful that he could bring a dead man back to life. Aesculapius' powers worried Pluto, so Pluto asked Jupiter to place him amoung the stars. Ophiuchus also reminds one of the serpent that Moses placed on the pole in the Bible. Anyone who looked at the serpent was supposed to be cured of snake bites.
