The Ram. Aries is a constellation of the Zodiac. As told in Greek mythology, the King of Thessaly had two children
named Phrixus and Helle who were beaten by their stepmother. Zeus sent a ram to carry the two children to safety.
Tragically, Helle lost her grip and fell off the ram into the strip of water between Europe and Asia, now called The
Hellespont, to honor her. Phrixus arrived to the shores of the Black Sea where he sacrificed the ram and hung its fleece
in a sacred grove where it turned into gold. Later using the ship Argo, Jason and his men set out to recover the fleece.
Once the fleece was recovered, it was returned it to Thessaly.
