Solar wind is a constant outward flow of gasses and plasma given off by the sun.  The magnetic field lines of the sun act as guide rails for heated plasma energy to escape from the solar corona and the inner corona.  This creates a tangible force constantly being cast outwards from the sun's expanding solar corona.
